On the same day of the announcement that Sam Tomkins will return to England in 2016, the New Zealand Warriors have announced the signing of Rooster's fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck on a three-year deal.
21-year-old Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is believed to be joining the New Zealand side on a deal worth $800,000 a year.
The 2013 RLIF Winger of the Year has recently been handed the number 1 jersey after the retirement of Anthony Minichiello at the Sydney Roosters, which has seen him score 2 tries in 5 appearances in the switch so far this season.
On the signing, the Vodafone New Zealand Warriors Head Coach, Andrew McFadden told the club's official website: “He’s a wonderful talent and a fantastic signing,” he said.
“He’s still only 21 and has already made a real mark in the NRL and also for the Kiwis. To be able to bring a New Zealander back to our club from Australia is massive for us.
“While we’re naturally thrilled and Roger is just as excited about coming home, we both have the same focus for the rest of the year. He’s solely interested in doing all he can for the Roosters just as we know Sam [Tomkins] wants to do the same for us.”
