The Canberra Raiders have today announced the signing of Catalan Dragon's forward Elliott Whitehead on a two-year deal from 2016.
The 25-year-old forward made his Super League debut with the Bradford Bulls in 2009 before appearing over 100 times for the side.
In 2013, Whitehead joined the Catalan Dragons on a 2-and-a-half year deal, where he has impressed the whole of Super League. In 2014, the Bradford-born player scored 18 tries during the Super League season, with 5 tries to his name already so far this season.
His recent success at the Dragons also impressed England coach Steve McNamara, with the player called up for the 2014 Four Nations where he made an appearance against New Zealand.
On the signing, Raiders CEO Don Furner said: “Elliott is a young but experienced first grade player who will join us at the end of the season after an impressive career so far in the English Super League.
“We’ve seen so far this season the positive impact players like Josh Hodgson and Sia Soliola have had on our squad and we look forward to Elliott continuing this for our club.”
