Dom Crosby – Although not the biggest-named player at number 8 of the 2015 Super League season, Dom Crosby impressed me throughout 2014 and I believe he’ll be a very strong forward in the coming season.
Weighing at 110kg, the England-Knight representative progressed as a player during the 2014 season and improved throughout the season. Wigan fans started to love seeing this player run with the ball and I can’t think of many bad runs conducted by this player.
This unit was promoted to a starting spot for the 2015 season after having a successful season and being experienced in some of the highest games, including two Grand Finals at just the age of 24. He doesn’t have the greatest stats within the prop forwards department, but I still highly rate this player. He’s a big unit and takes at least three players every time to get this giant down, and if he can work on his off-load he’ll be a great attacking forward in 2015.
Watch out for this young lad in the coming season.
Chris Hill – One of the best forwards in the Super League in 2014, Hill had a very impressive season. Warrington fans loved this player throughout the season, and at the end of the year, England fans did too, as he featured for England in the 2014 Four Nations.
Hill is a strong-running, solid prop forward who never disappoints. He’s as strong in defence as he is in attack, and, like Crosby, it takes at leas three players just to stop this wrecking-machine.
The 27-year-old, who’s also great with fans, made the fourth-most amount of carries in the 2014 season, the second-most amount of metres and also made 10 clean breaks – which is a great stat for a prop forward and shows just how powerful this athletic player is.
Chris Hill is amongst one of the best forward packs within the 2015 Super League season, alongside Ashton Sims at number 10. These two are going to have a big impact on the Warrington Wolves this year.
Mose Masoe – Although his 2014 season wasn’t as good as it was expected to be, the player did certainly start to improve during the course and became a better prop at the end of the 2014 season.
Personally, I was majorly disappointed by this player in the 2014 season – but not quite as much as Roy Asotasi. The ex-Sydney Roosters and Penrith Panthers 130kg prop didn’t have the best of seasons in 2014, but he certainly was looking sharper towards the end of the season and if he carries on from that, he could be a real force in the 2015 season.
Masoe was selected in Samoa’s Four Nations squad where he impressed most fans and even the commentator, Andrew Voss sounded more-than-excited to see him play. Somehow, Masoe even bounced one of the Burgess brothers in the first game of the tournament, and that’s a rare occurrence!
Watching him play Wigan at Langtree Park in their pre-season warm-up, he looked stronger than ever. His pre-season must have been a tough one as he looking even bigger than before and he caused Wigan many problems in defence, and also gained his side several penalties to help them gain easy metres up the field. He was looking like a brand new player compared to 2014 – so I’ll be expecting good things from this man!
