Leeds Rhino's fullback Zak Hardaker (left) and Elliot Minchella have admitted to the assault of a 22-year-old student in February, but have not been charged.
A picture was quickly shared on social media, and fans of the sport were quick to question if the two suspects were in fact England representative Zak Hardaker and Elliot Minchella.
The two players were yesterday released "without charge" by Yorkshire police but both admitted the assault, and will now pay £200 in compensation to the student and are to write a letter of apology under a "community resolution".
Leeds Rhinos wrote the follow statement on their official website: "Both players have been released without charge and the investigation is now concluded. The Rhinos will continue their internal investigation surrounding the incident however both players will be available for selection this week."
Fans of Rugby League are now eager to hear what Leeds Chairman Gary Hetherington has to say after he allegedly urged his fellow Super League bosses to try and block former-Cronulla player Todd Carney’s move to Catalan Dragons.
