Former Hull FC and Hull KR fullback, Shannon McDonnell has returned to Australia with a trial with Wests Tigers, where McDonnell started his professional rugby league career.
The 27-year old fullback, who spent some time with St Helens on loan in 2014 before breaking his jaw, has until the end of February to impress the coaching staff at Wests Tigers.
McDonnell has also appeared for Exiles in the 'England vs Exiles' clashes, and also appeared for Ireland in the 2014 European Championship, which ended with Scotland winning the spot in the 2016 Four Nations.
Wesley Lolo also joins McDonnell on trial at the Wests Tigers.
“We were looking to bolster our depth in both of those positions and these guys have been given an opportunity to show us if they are worthy of a contract," said Tiger's head coach Jason Taylor.
